European networks
In each European country, a national information centre has been set up to spread information about the recognition of foreign qualifications. The main duty of the centres is to assist and direct individuals to the appropriate source of information, in order to obtain the evaluation/recognition of their qualifications.

The list of national information centres for recognition is available at the following website: http://www.enic-naric.net

The national information centres are related to two different networks:
- the NARIC Network supported by the European Commission;
- the ENIC Network supported by the Council of Europe and UNESCO Europe Region.

The NARIC Network
The NARIC network (National Academic Recognition Information Centres) is an initiative of the European Commission and was created in 1984. All EU States have created national centres, with the purpose to promote mobility of students, teachers and researchers by providing authoritative advice and information about the academic recognition of diplomas and periods of study spent abroad.

The ENIC Network
The ENIC Network (European Network of National Information Centres on academic recognition and mobility) consists of the national information centres of the European Cultural Convention signatory countries and of those included in the UNESCO Europe Region. An ENIC centre is set up by national authorities.
The size and the specific fields competence of each ENIC centre may vary, but they all provide information about  recognition of foreign diplomas, degrees and other qualifications; about education systems both in foreign countries and in ENIC member countries, as well as about opportunities to study abroad, including information about loans and scholarships, alongside with advice on practical questions related to mobility and equivalence of qualifications.

The MERIC Network
The MERIC Network (Mediterranean Recognition Information Centres) was launched during the 7th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Mediterranean Recognition Convention in June 2005. The MERIC Network brings together all the ratifying and signatory countries of the Mediterranean Recognition Convention. It aims to promote information exchange in the Mediterranean Region and with the ENIC/NARIC networks.
