The Verif-AI project – Supporting verification of authenticity through AI technologies has the general objective of supporting the implementation of automatic recognition by:
• enhancing knowledge of possibilities and challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for the credential evaluation sector, with a focus on the verification of authenticity stage;
• improving quality and efficacy of verification of authenticity.
In order to address the gaps identified in the Commission’s report to the Council on the implementation of the 2018 Council Recommendation on automatic recognition, the project will explore the implications of the possible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the recognition process by drafting a white paper providing guidelines for ENIC-NARIC centres. The Verif-AI project will contribute to facilitate verification of authenticity, enhance both models of trust in verification and trust in delivery.
This will be achieved mainly through the development of an online tool to support verification of authenticity in the ENIC-NARIC Networks that will assist the daily work of credential evaluators and enhance automatic recognition and recognition of third country nationals. The tool will result from the mapping of all required documents and resources that partner ENIC-NARICs use for the verification of authenticity of qualifications from all over the world.
Moreover, the project will also deliver a piloting study on the possible integration of AI tools to the digitally mature required documents and resources collected in the mapping phase.
